Time to Say Goodbye to the Disc

Is It Time to Say Goodbye to the Disc and Other Physical Media?

The way we consume media is changing rapidly. It wasn’t long ago that someone wanting to watch a movie had to run out to their favorite local store or movie rental place to grab a disc. If one wanted to listen to their favorite bands new album, a trip to the store to get a CD was required. Even video games on disc seem to be fading, with people buying games on Steam, and the PlayStation 4 and Xbox Oneboth offering the ability to buy games digitally.
This all begs the question: is the disc going away? The infographic below investigates, and the answer, though not necessarily surprising, is fascinating.
