As such, it’s totally normal to use YouTube as a music streaming service these days. The downside is that these streams are still video, so they end up wasting a lot of bandwidth unnecessarily. This is a huge problem if you have monthly data caps.
One option is to subscribe to YouTube Red to unlock two nifty features: first, the ability to stream only the audio portions of a video, and second, the ability to download both video and audio for offline playback.
But if you don’t like YouTube Red, there’s an alternative.
- Visit the YouTube video you want to turn into an MP3.
- Copy the URL from the address bar of your browser.
- Navigate to YouTube MP3 and paste the URL.
- Click Convert Video.
- Click the download link when conversion is done.
If the YouTube MP3 website doesn’t work, there are several other alternatives you can use, including Listen to YouTube and Vid to MP3. Whichever you use, just know that the quality of the resulting MP3s will be average at best. This is the drawback to this method.
