Interior Repairs
For leaky plumbing, sticky doors, squeaky floors, and walls with holes, these videos have you covered. So grab your toolbox and get ready to make those minor repairs.
Toilets
Problem 1: Leaking toilet tank.
You never think to look inside your toilet tank for parts that need replacing until something goes wrong. But, over time, the bolts that hold the tank to the bowl become rusted and the rubber underneath deteriorate, causing a leak.
This video from Fix It Home Improvement Channel shows you how to drain the tank, remove the rusted bolts, and what to do if you cannot budge those bolts. You will also see which tools and items you need from the hardware store to get the job done.
Problem 2: Running toilet.
The only thing worse than a leaking toilet is a running toilet. Aside from the annoying sound, it is a huge waste of water. In this video, you will learn which tools you need to begin and which parts to check that may be causing the problem.
There are three reasons why your toilet could be running and this clip describes them and shows you how to fix each one.
Problem 3: Broken toilet handle.
You go to flush your toilet and hear or feel a snap. You have a broken handle, but this is one toilet repair that you can fix in minutes. The video describes the three types of toilet handles. So, just be sure when purchasing a new one that you buy the correct type for your toilet style.

Sinks and Tubs
Problem 4: Slow draining or clogged sink.
Sometimes Drano just is not enough. This video from ProMaster Home Repair & Handyman of Cincinnati takes you through steps to clean out the pipes under the sink that hold the ick. Whether it is hair, sludge, or a bit of both, you can fix it quickly.
You will only need a minimal amount of materials, will learn how to clean a couple of different parts, and will have that drain flowing water smoothly in no time.
Problem 5: Clogged shower drain.
A clogged drain in your shower or tub is much different than one in your sink. You cannot just pop open and clean the pipes. This video shows you how to clear your shower drain with a Shop Vac. It may take a little time and patience, but will be worth it.
So as long as you have that handy industrial vacuum and a rag, you will be ready to go after watching this short video.
Problem 6: Leaking faucet.
Another common problem with sinks is a leaky faucet. This video from Mr. Fix It shows you how to repair a kitchen faucet that leaks, saving you money on a plumber, a new faucet, and wasted water.
The steps show you how to fix a simple ball faucet as well as how to find out if that is the type you own if you are unsure.
Doors
Problem 7: Sticking wooden door.
You may notice that suddenly your wooden door is sticking when you open and close it. There are three reasons this might happen which include humidity, loose hinges, or a door frame that shifted as the house settled over time. This video walks you through how to identify the problem area, check for loose hinges, and fix your door.
You may need to sand or plane the door and touch it up with paint when you finish, depending on the fix.
Problem 8: Sticking sliding glass door.
Maybe it is not a wooden door that is sticking, but a sliding glass door instead. The first thing to try is the simplest which is to work with the adjustment screws on the bottom of the door.
If this does not fix the problem, you could have rollers that broke or have seized up. If this is the case, you can expect to spend approximately $25 to fix it and the following video helps you through the process.
Problem 9: Broken door hinges.
Who knew you could use a golf tee to fix a broken door hinge? This video shows you a 15-second fix for a hinge screw that will no longer tighten. So, grab that tee, open the wood glue, and get ready to repair your hinge.
Electrical
Problem 10: Broken ceiling fan light.
Has this ever happened to you? You pull the chain on your ceiling fan to turn on the light and it does not work. If your light bulb is not burned out, then you may need to do a ceiling fan pull chain repair. You will need a couple of items like a screwdriver and pull chain kit from the store.

Walls and Floors
Problem 11: Hole in the wall.
Maybe you put too much strength into your hammer hanging a picture or removed a decoration from the wall and see a gaping hole. The next two videos will show you how to easily repair and patch drywall. The first is for a small hole and the second is for a bigger one.
One more option for repairing a small hole in drywall is to do so without tools using a product called Wall Doctor. Follow the steps in this video to get your wall back to normal quickly with this magical fix.
Problem 13: Squeaking floor.

Exterior Repairs

Siding
Problem 14: Melted vinyl siding.
You might never think it could happen, but melted vinyl siding certainly can occur. This helpful video from This Old House describes what can cause this, how to repair it, and how you might prevent it from happening again.
You will be replacing the melted spots, so you will need to obtain siding to match yours.
Problem 15: Leaking siding.
Another problem that can occur with siding is a leak. The next video is also from This Old House and takes you through the steps to repair your leaky siding. This process may not help in every leaky siding situation. But if you determine that the problem relates to a window, you are covered with this clip.
Concrete
Problem 16: Cracked concrete.
Do you have a problem with cracked concrete due to moisture, temperature, or ground movement? Mr. Fix It shows the different steps involved which can change if the crack varies in size throughout its length.
You may need a few extra tools for this repair, but if you are ready to go then the video walks you through the fix clearly.
Garden Hose
Problem 17: Leaking hose.
If you would rather fix a leaky garden hose than replace it, this video shows you how to do it for less than five dollars. You will see different products tested which is helpful for knowing not to buy for the repair.
You will need a saw, hose clamps, and a hose mender to use the successful method in the video.
