Instagram is finally letting ordinary users share multiple photos in a single post. This means you’ll no longer need to pick the perfect shot to share on Instagram. Instead, you can share up to 10 photos or videos in one post. Until now, Instagram users have been limited to posting just one photo or video at a time. This meant you would spend ages selecting the perfect shot to sum up your day, dinner, party, engagement, or whatever. Thankfully, this time-wasting triviality is no longer necessary.
Using Instagram’s New Carousel Posts
With its latest update, rolling out on Android and on iOS over the next few weeks, Instagram has added support for photo albums. Instagram actually calls them carousels, but they’re really just albums, albeit albums limited to just 10 photos or videos. It’s an arbitrary number, but one which avoids overkill.
You can upload multiple photos or videos on Instagram by selecting the cascading square icon. From here you just add the photos or videos you want grouped together in one post. You can then rearrange the order they’ll be displayed in by dragging and dropping each one into position.
You can add a caption and location tags as usual, but these will be applied to all of the photos or videos in that post. However, you can tag friends in individual photos or videos, and you also have the option of applying filters to each photo individually or all together. How Instagram Filters Work, And Can You Tell The Difference? Here you'll find everything you need to know about what each Instagram filter does, what it's best used for, and we've got some great examples for you to look at.READ MORE
Share More Photos of Your Life
It’s a wonder Instagram took so long to offer this feature. Especially as it’s been available to advertisers for some time. Some people may think it sullies the simple beauty of Instagram, but we suspect most people will appreciate the opportunity to share more photos of their life.
Are you an avid Instagram user? Are you likely to start posting more than one photo or video at a time? How can you see yourself using this new feature? Do you think it’s a change for the better or a change for the worse? Please let us know in the comments below!
