I ran across this awesome image today: http://themetapicture.com/how-hot-your-motherboard-and-processor-is/.
Can you believe it? It looks like this person used his
motherboard to fry up some French Fries! Then I really looked at the picture
again. You can see that there is a hot plate under the tin. So, in fact, he
didn’t cook just using the heat from his computer. In fact, what he did was
even more amazing. Thanks to a comment on the image I tracked down the original
post: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1104341.
The person who cooked fries with his motherboard actually did COOK his motherboard!
And the computer still kept working!
It seems like he was trying to test out if submerging his
motherboard in oil would keep it cool, which it did. Then he got hungry and
wanted some fries but had no oil left, so he just heated up the oil with the motherboard
still in it. Not only did it take a while for the computer to crash, but the
thing came back to life once the oil cooled. Wow! That is impressive. I bet you
didn’t know your computer could take the heat like that.
