Guys, a friend of mine sent me this, i just wanted to share it with you! What do
you think of his assertion? Enjoy it!
NETWORKS
I am not talking about SAFCOM, UTL, MTN and the like. Not the sexual
network either. Let's focus on human networks. The people we spend
most time with have some level of influence on what we eventually
become; they participate in shaping our destiny.
Recently, at the Authors' Forum, Patrick Bitature, a successful
businessman, said there's a thread of characteristics that links
successful people.
How true this is! These people live in the same neighborhoods, hangout
in the same places, read the same books; marry amongst themselves;
visit each other; seek advice from each other. They are on the success
network. Like the sexual network, success and failure networks are
also powerful. Who are you linked to? Are you in the network of
alcoholics? Promiscuous or frustrated, lazy men who think the world is
unfair? Or are you among achievers, who seek new ideas, share
opportunities and are not afraid of taking risks?
Strange, how someone who dreams of becoming a great musician can spend
time in the company of people who know nothing about music. If you
want to become a great sportsman, what business do you have hanging
around brick-layers?
If you hang around nine broke people, you are likely to become the
tenth! Part of the reasons why I have become who I am today is because
of the influence from my friends. Without the right people around you
your great idea might die. You need success-minded people, even if
it means spending money to get a moment with them. Stop thinking
successful people are unapproachable, a theory I've come to
disprove over and over again. Networking with the right people will
open for you doors to opportunities that you never knew even existed.
Stop lamenting about lack of opportunities; look for them through
people around you.
Tafakari hayo!
Blessed wk
